When Arise Vascular opened its first Illinois clinic in November 2021, the company turned to JDJ Architects to create a calming and functional space that focuses on the patient experience, while guiding Arise through the complexities of state and local building codes and regulations.

The 4,000 square-foot clinic in Mount Prospect, Illinois, joins independent physician-owned Arise facilities in Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma that focus on vascular catheterization, with outpatient procedures that use new technologies to increase blood flow to limbs. The vascular clinics are designed to look like a home environment, rather than a hospital, with a hospitality-inspired, serene color palette and contemporary artwork. Plenty of natural light, including transom windows in the recovery area, also contribute to patient wellbeing.

Chicago-based JDJ Architects also handled compliance with state and local building codes. “This is our first clinic in Illinois and Illinois is a highly-regulated state,” said Arise CFO Jordon Leger. “JDJ Architects did a great job of walking us through all of the regulations,” he said. “They handled the pre-construction drawings, the buildout details and scheduled regular meetings,” he said. “They also provided onsite updates to make sure that the clinic was built to our strict specifications.”
